| Jim Rizzuto, President
Jim Rizzuto
was named as Lamar Community College's President in January of 2006. The first
in the State of Colorado, he is president at both LCC and its sister
college, Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado. He has been President
at OJC since 2001. Rizzuto is a La Junta native and Otero Junior
College graduate.
President Rizzuto earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in finance and economics from the University of Colorado. He then received
two masters degrees, one in business administration and a second in
international management from the American Graduate School of International
Management (formerly Thunderbird College), one of the world's premier
international finance and trade programs. In addition, he has studied
at Cornell University in New York and at Harvard University 's JFK
School of Government in Massachusetts.
In 1982 President Rizzuto was elected to the Colorado State Senate,
a position he held until 1998, stepping down due to term limits. During
his 16 years in the State Senate, President Rizzuto was a member of the
Joint Budget Committee for 12 years, serving as chairman for four years.
As a member of the Joint Budget Committee, he oversaw an annual budget
that averaged close to $13.5 billion.

Dr. David Smith, Chief Administrative
Officer
Dave joined Lamar Community College in the fall of 2003 as Dean of Academic
Programs and became the V.P. of Academic Affairs in January of 2004.
He was named as LCC's interim chief administrative officer in January
2005 and brought to permanent status in January of 2006. He brings over
twenty years of experience in higher education in both instruction and
administration, predominently in California. He received his PhD in English
Literature from University of Denver in 1998 and earned his MA in Creative
Writing (1985) and BA in English (1977) from California State University

Dan Minor, Dean of Academic Programs
Dan received his B.A. in History from Western State University (Gunnison,
CO). He holds a Masters in Adult Education & Training from Colorado
State University. When not immersed in the world of academia, Dan

Chuck Cook, Director of Facilities Management
Formerly a welding instructor, Chuck has been with LCC for over twenty
years. He and his staff are responsible for maintaining the College's
