Below are major dates within Lamar Community College's continuous improvement process through AQIP.

Spring 2004: LCC president forms an LCC accreditation steering committee to consider application as AQIP college.

July 2004: Steering Committee attends AQIP Vital Focus Conference.

August 2004: LCC AQIP Steering Committee applies to The Higher Learning Commission for participation in AQIP.

8/26/04: LCC receives official notification of acceptance as AQIP college.

August 2004: LCC staff and faculty participate in online Constellation Survey to assess current trends/challenges/opportunities.

9/17/04: LCC holds Conversation Day with all LCC staff & faculty members.

1/26-29/04: AQIP Steering Committee members attend Strategy Forum in Chicago, Illinois.

4/15/04: Action Projects submitted to AQIP

4/29/04: Communication Action Plan - staff and faculty assess current departmental information flow.

May 2005:
Assessment Action Plan - fulltime faculty submit assessment templates for one class each.

Summer 2005: Communication Action Plan - Communication Committee identifies current communication models based on feedback from campus departments.

September 2005:
Communication Action Plan - Committee administers Examiner survey for baseline of communication climate.

Fall 2005:
AQIP Steering Committee members attend Systems Portfolio Workshop.

Assessment Action Plan
- fulltime faculty implement assessment plan.

Fall 2005 - Spring 2005:
Communication Action Plan - Committee implements strategies to improve campus communication, including workshops.

September 2005: Communication Action Plan - Committee administers post-survey assess results.

December 2005: Assessment Action Plan - fulltime faculty submit and discuss results of assessment plan for fall semester.

January 2006: Assessment Action Plan - fulltime faculty implement assessment plan.

2/15/06: Title III Action Plan - Title III Eligibility Application submitted.

Spring 2006: Title III Action Plan - Complete research and final recommendations for Title III.

March 2006: LCC staff & Steering Committee begin to form initial responses to System Portfolio (SP) categories. First topic is #1: Helping Students Learn.

April 2006: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #2: Accomplishing Other Distinctive Objectives.

May 2006: Assessment Action Plan - fulltime faculty submit results of assessment plan for spring semester.

July 2006: Assessment Action Plan - fulltime faculty submit results of assessment plan for spring semester. Download Title III grant abstract.

August 2006: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #3: Understanding Students' and Other Stakeholders' Needs.

September 2006: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #4: Valuing People.

October 2006: Steering Committee members attend Systems Portfolio training.

November 2006: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #6: Supporting Institutional Operations.

January 2007: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #7: Measuring Effectiveness.

February 2007: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #8: Planning Continuous Improvement.

March 2007: LCC staff & Steering Committee form initial responses to SP category #9: Building Collaborative Relationships.

May 1, 2008: LCC completes Systems Portfolio.
