The
2008 Runnin’ Lopes are coming off a 31-23 season and their seventh
straight Empire Conference title. During this seven year conference title
run the Lopes have averaged 47 wins a year, and accumulated an astonishing
league record of 204-26 for a .886 winning percentage. Also during this
title run the Lopes had three seasons of over 50 wins in 2002 (59), 04
(50), 05 (51).
The 2008 club lost eleven sophomores to graduation and will have eighteen new faces on the spring roster. After showing leadership and experience in the fall there should be three talented sophomores in the line up every day. On the mound, our top two pitchers will be sophomores and will bring 16 wins of experience from their freshman seasons. The rest of the club will be comprised of talented freshmen class from Colorado, New Mexico, and Idaho that will help carry on the winning tradition at LCC.
