Our Mission: "To support Lamar Community College through its athletic programs."
LAMAR COMMUNITY COLLEGE is the college of choice for several hundred students from Southeast Colorado, across the nation, and around the globe.
These students, their families and visitors pour thousands of dollars into Southeast Colorado communities every month. Students, their families, and visiting athletic teams spend their money in our stores, restaurants, motels, fuel stations, and other businesses throughout our area. Students involved in athletic, rodeo and academic programs represent us nationwide in many events during each school year.
LCC Athletics include Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Golf, Softball, Rodeo and Volleyball. While most LCC sports compete in Region IX (Division I) of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), the rodeo team is unique in that it is a member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA), Central Rocky Mountain Region. Team members compete against athletes from other two-year and four-year colleges for regional and national honors.
It is the goal of the RUNNIN’ LOPES BOOSTER CLUB to encourage community & college collaboration and by highlighting and advancing LCC’s athletic programs. We plan to have a number of membership events, meetings, and fund raisers throughout the year.
