Accounting Technician I: Full-time position provides technical accounting support to the LCC’s business office and human resource functions.

Primary duties and responsibilities include collecting and reviewing submitted employment packets for completeness, reconciling accounts payable statements, making travel arrangements; and additional responsibilities in support of the business office and human resources. 

One year of clerical, technical accounting or bookkeeping experience is required.  This includes creating and utilizing computer spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and experience working with Microsoft Word.  Applicable experience must have been performed as a main function of previous job.

Construction & Renewable Energy Technologies Program Specialist: 220 day full time faculty contract plus supplemental administrative contract.  Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic Services and Title III Grant Administrator, the position will lead the Construction Technologies program and organize efforts to develop the Renewable Energy Technologies program. The successful candidate will also organize efforts to develop the college’s new Renewable Energy Technologies program. These programs are principally funded through a five-year (October 2008-September 2013) U.S. Department of Education Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant.  It is the intention of the college to retain the program coordinator/ lead instructor position at the conclusion of the grant.

Responsibilities: Emphasis of work will include:

  • Identify program-specific competencies
  • Design and develop program curricula
  • Pilot  program courses
  • Evaluate pilot results and revise curriculum accordingly
  • Develop and coordinate lab preparation required for the courses
  • Develop articulation agreements with four-year institutions as appropriate
  • Prepare materials to inform College community about program objectives, requirements, and employment/transfer opportunities
  • Assist in project evaluation
  • Recruit, direct, and evaluate appropriate part-time faculty
  • Advise students

Assignment may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and off-campus classes. Instructor will assist and advise students; participate in division activities including regular faculty meetings; and represent discipline on appropriate college teams, including AQIP, Strategic Planning, Faculty Senate, and other internal committees.

Qualifications:  Master’s degree required with 15 hours in appropriate discipline. Evidence of thorough and accurate knowledge of discipline required.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Community college teaching and curriculum development experience preferred.  Program management experience/expertise highly desired.  Must hold or have credentials to qualify for Colorado Vocational Certification. 

Compensation:  Salary commensurate with experience and education level plus benefits that accrue to full-time positions within the Colorado Community College System.  This is a grant-funded position.  It is the intention of the college to continue the program past the grant, based on sustained enrollment.

Computer Instructor: 
Full-time 166 day faculty contract position with broad teaching responsibilities in the areas of general computer and networking courses, as well as cross-discipline technology. Experience with computer aided drafting software is desirable.  Position provides instruction, planning, committee work and student advising.

Responsibilities:  Under the direction of the Dean of Academic Services, the instructor will teach a 12-15 credit hour load each semester, which depending upon qualifications, may include teaching various courses in computer information, assisting the Dean in program development and other division tasks; and participating in curriculum review and program/course evaluation and assessment as well as professional development activities. The position will assist other faculty members with the college’s course management system (Desire 2 Learn).

The instructor must maintain currency in subject areas; use effective teaching/learning strategies; and work cooperatively with other department members and the Dean of Academic Services to develop and maintain quality instruction. Assignment may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and off-campus classes.  Instructor is expected to maintain regular office hours; assist and advise students; participate in department activities; serve on appropriate college committees, including Faculty Senate committees and campus Academic Quality Improvement Program committees; and participate in professional and community activities.  Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Information Technology or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience with preference for college-level teaching and broad teaching competency.
  • Experience with course management systems and staff training.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, economic, educational, gender, and/or disability backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.

  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of students served at community colleges and the interrelationship of critical thinking, reading, and writing as well as skills to match learners, technologies, and instructional support;

Compensation $35,500 plus benefits that accrue to full-time faculty positions within the Colorado Community College System.

Adjunct Instructors: Lamar Community College is currently seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses at LCC, both on-campus and online for future semesters in arts and science and career & technical education areas. **LCC is expanding its physical education offerings and is seeking certified group exercise instructors for aerobics, group weight training, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Tai Chi, step aerobics, and other courses as well as adjunct instructors for college level PE courses. Acceptable certifications include: NASM, ACSM, ACE, AFAA and NCSF as well as certifications for Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Tai Chi or others. Certifications must be current. Instructors must have current CPR and AED cards and be willing to maintain continuing education requirements. High school diploma or GED required for fitness center courses. Bachelor's degree in Physical Science (or related field) required, master's preferred for college level physical education courses.

**Additionally the Construction Technologies/Historic Preservation program is seeking carpenters, woodworkers, masons, electricians, CAD, welding, painting (commercial), plumbing, sheet metal, blacksmiths, interior/decorative arts, and construction project managers to teach coursework. 

Compensation: $467/credit hour for Bachelors prepared instructors / $485/credit hour for Masters prepared instuctors.
