Check-in beginsCheck-in for the conference will begin at 9:00am in the Bowman Building on the Lamar Community College campus. Attendees will receive their conference t-shirts and be sorted into their color groups for the day.
Conference kick-offLCC’s Vice President Cheryl Sanchez will kick off the day, welcoming conference attendees to campus and building excitement for the day ahead.
Keynote Speaker: Megan MeyerMegan Meyer, graduate of Wiley High School who is currently working in the swine breeding stock industry, will serve as the keynote speaker. Megan will describe her own educational and career journey while encouraging conference participants to "follow their arrow," wherever it might lead them.
Break Out Session #1Conference attendees will break out for their career sessions, exploring different career options such as audiology, news reporting, agriculture, engineering, and more. Women from various professions will lead interactive, hands-on sessions for exploration.
Break Out Session #2Conference attendees will switch breakout sessions, to explore another career opportunity. Women from various professions will lead interactive, hands-on sessions for exploration.
LunchThe conference will break for lunch at noon, when attendees will enjoy food from BJ’s Burger and Beverage.
Group ActivityThe conference will reconvene after lunch with a fun, action-pack group activity that will have them exploring campus while getting to know their group-mates.
ClosingAt 1:45pm, everyone will gather once again to wrap up the day.
Conference endsThe conference ends at 2:00 p.m.

Girls in the Middle is a one-day conference where middle school girls can explore different career options. The conference focuses largely on careers in Science, Math, Engineering, Technology and Healthcare. Women from various professions will lead interactive, hands-on sessions for exploration.
Through a proven and popular format, this conference provides an excellent opportunity for girls to look beyond the “traditional” female occupations to make informed decisions about their future and what career path they intend to choose.
