Scholarship Opportunities

LCC administers scholarships offered by the institution itself, foundations, and private agencies. For more detailed information on available scholarships, contact Brittney Willis at 719-336-1580 or information@lamarcc.edu.

The Lamar Community College Foundation is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1974, which receives gifts, bequests, and donations for the College, many of which provide necessary scholarships. The Foundation actively seeks donations from interested parties. Please contact the Foundation Office at 719-336-1520.

NEW! Community Scholarships: The LCC Foundation also solicits contributions for a variety of privately-funded scholarships. These individual scholarships have different eligibility requirements and award amounts; they are open to new and continuing students from Southeast Colorado. >> Download 2008-2009 Community Scholarship Application. Presidential Scholarships: LCC's Foundation annually offers Presidential Scholarships to graduating seniors in Colorado. (75% awarded to seniors from member districts of the Southeastern Board of Cooperative Services.) Lamar Community College offers a number of other scholarships. Students with good high school records or other demonstration of academic achievement should contact the Office of Admissions for scholarship information. Scholarships are awarded on academic merit, proven abilities in athletics, and in other talent areas.

TRiO Scholars Awards: Applicants must be a full-time college student (neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree) and enrolled in the LCC TRiO Scholars program. >> Download the TRiO Scholars Award Application. Pueblo Hispanic Education Foundation: Open scholarship with matching LCC funds. Deadline: March 28, 2008. >> Download Application.

NEW! Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship: The Alpha Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a society that promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education, is sponsoring a $300 scholarship to a female college sophomore or above with a career goal in education. Letters of application must be postmarked by March 31, and the recipient will be selected by May 1, 2008. The scholarship will be awarded directly to the student upon proof of registration at an accredited institution of higher learning. Download announcement and details.
