Having Problems Connecting to the Webcast?

Below are some possible solutions to your problem.

  • Are you connecting over a dial-up internet connection?

    Due to the slower speeds of a dial-up connection, the quality of a live webcast can be extremely low or the live webcast may not be viewable at all. If you are connecting over a dial-up connection then you may have difficulties with one of the above mentioned problems.
  • Are you attempting to connect at the appropriate time?

    The Webcast will only be activated at the times specified on the previous page.
  • Do you have Windows Media Player installed?

    If you do have windows media player, do you have the latest version?

  • Are you behind a firewall?

    If you are behind a firewall, you must disable it to allow the stream to be seen on your computer. If you have a personal firewall, i.e., Zone Alarm, you must shut it down. Some corporations set up a firewall to protect their networks. If you are behind a corporate firewall you will not be able to view the Webcast. 
  • Still having problems connecting?

    If you are still having problems connecting, perform the following operations:

    1. Open Windows Media Player

    2. Click on file and then click "open url"

    3. In the open box type the following: http://www.lamarcc.edu/webcast/LCCWebcast1.htm

    4. Click OK and you should receive the webcast
